1  Alliance General Talk / Hit List / Re: Personal Bounty List on: May 18, 2007, 10:43:45 AM
Who said I was crying, I'm just offering a friendly bounty. 2 people now have taken me up on it. I'm liking this more and more *sits back and enjoys the destruction*
2  Alliance General Talk / Hit List / Re: Nighty's Hitlist on: May 17, 2007, 07:22:38 AM
I disagree with that completely. Us higher members, who have survived a few DDays, know about the hints and tricks to beating more or less any fleet combination in existence. Newer members don't have that experience, and if the moment they drop out of neb they are attacked again, how will they get the opportunity to learn. Most of the people in this alliance from what I can see have under 100 million fp. probably the average is about 50million at most. Now, just starting, on the first day, I could slaughter that.

So where shall the line be drawn? Are you saying it's right for me to go around and create alts to wardec all the newbie alliances and get strong, hit them till they crumble, when my attacks are maxed, or my ranking is too high, I just make another and go through it again? Yes...that's a great way to get people to learn.

The point is, NS has taken a personal grudge against one player he 'just doesn't like' then expanded it to a training alliance for more or less no reason from what I can gather. I have a problem with this. Attacking players, that's fine, I got no problem with that, marking them for war and going so low as to create alts with your 'leet fleetbuilding skills' to 'pwn' them? What does that teach? How does that train them? All it garners is frustration, people who will get fed up because every time they get up a semi decent fleet, one of NS's alts will blast them to oblivion?

How does that 'teach' or 'train' anything? Lets face it, the shipbuilding guides here are more or less poor, with different and fragmented views. How is someone getting slaughtered every time they are out of a neb teach them anything? Or does it teach them that they need to find a alliance member who is on to hit them so they are forcefully nebbed again? *Something that, if you ask me, is a bad playing strategy* That he should get that alliance member, and himself to create alts for the express purpose of nebbing the other friend before they get hit?

None of these are viable playing strategies, and in the end, all NS is is a griefer. Someone who gets satisfaction in his 'leet videogame master' status by picking on newbies and spoiling their fun. Reminds me of the typical bully back when I was in school. Nice to know that syndrome has followed to here.

On top of this from the posts made Emi said that what he did was wrong. Will that stop him? Unlikely, he will simply make alts with indistinguishable names and continue.

I WANT new players in this game. I WANT them to find a cool game, and want to stay and try and make a name for themselves. Picking on these people, who probably started less than a week ago, barely have good footing, and abusing the rules to do it? I have a problem with this.

Oh, you might want to increase the bounty on me NS, but either way, there are only a few people who know my identity, they are some select few alliance members who call you a bit of a dolt and I happen to agree with them. None of them will give me up, and you don't have the intellect to find out yourself.

Enjoy your game, and I can't wait till you're within my attack level.
But I'll give you a hint.

There's a difference between fighting, and war declaring an alliance designed to train newbies, before using alts to hit those members his main can't *and getting warned for it in the process* I don't believe LOI or AL have ever 'gone to war' against a training alliance, in fact, I believe both alliances agree that this is a good resource and do things to protect them *offering alliances/truces* Whilst LOI and AL are not the 'be all and end all' of this game, they are some of the more respected.

Yet, neither of them have chosen to go to war with a training alliance....yet you did. And then after you getting annoyed, you brought alts in to hurt them even more? It just proves how low you will go. There is a difference between teaching them how to fight and just shoving an inexhaustable supply of units down their throat until they crumble.

Ha! that'll teach him. Well, I've already got one person who has hit NS for me. So far so good.

Please people, keep the hits coming!
5  Alliance General Talk / Hit List / Re: Personal Bounty List on: May 17, 2007, 04:31:12 AM
9tril, and was at near the end of the round if I remember. and it's 12.5 now. You don't need to take me up on it, but hey. What 1$ worth provides increases steadilly throughout the round. Just 3 days ago it was at 4 bill, not it's at 12.5.

As for 250bil, we will see if anyone takes me up on this amount, if they do, then excellent, if they don't...well the $ amount will keep rising.
6  Alliance General Talk / Hit List / Re: Nighty's Hitlist on: May 17, 2007, 01:47:53 AM
As for LOI not caring...did I say this was an alliance problem? No I said this was a 'personal vendetta' Or do you think every person in AL and LOI adhere to the alliances view as a whole?

Either way. If you wish to call me a liar, that is your choice. I'm not going to say yay or nay in the matter. But I tell you this. Gain a few digits, and I'll hit you. You're not on my alliances 'don't attack' list, and so I have no problems doing so.

And uh, did I try insulting you? no sir I did not. But hey, you want to insult me, feel free, I'm just not going to stoop to your level of immaturity to try and get a rise out of you.

As for you NS - I don't train people in that alliance, I just think that the mechanic is a good one. If I had my way, all the alliances would not hit any training alliance, because that's the best way that this game improves, fresh blood who enjoy the game and play hard...also that know what the heck they are doing.
7  Alliance General Talk / Hit List / Re: Personal Bounty List on: May 17, 2007, 01:38:04 AM
See, I'd increase the bounty on Nightshadow, but you know.....I really can't be bothered. He's worth very little anyway. So blak, are you his main or something *laughs* And uh, 200b$ credits? *chuckles* You sure know how to undervalue me.

A lot of people know who this forum name is, and I doubt any one of them will speak up

What IS amusing though, is how broke you would go. If someone took out all my missions ships....well you'd have to pay a LOT of money. I don't use supers for missions 13

And warning is different from all-out war. And using alts to hit people who your main can't hit because he's too powerful? shame on you.

At least you could name it better to try and hide it.
8  Alliance General Talk / Hit List / Re: Nighty's Hitlist on: May 16, 2007, 01:00:54 PM
I'd prefer not to bring alliance matters into it, it's more of a personal vendetta than anything else. If he chooses to declare on his 'hit list' that he is targeting a alliance whose sole purpose is to make it so the game is fun for newbies to play and they actually understand a decent amount of what goes on, well I have a problem with that. Do you wish this to become an alliance matter?

And sorry, I'd still need to lose whole digits to get you in range, feel free to buff your FP up so I can hit you, and so that way you might actually be able to defend against it. Either way, the post was of a personal nature, and as I said, I don't intend to bring alliance matters into it.

Or are you saying you condone a war action against an alliance whose main goal is to help newbies and get this game to grow?
9  Alliance General Talk / Hit List / Personal Bounty List on: May 16, 2007, 11:45:17 AM
Here's a list of players I will put a bounty out on. Show logs of the players defeat in here, and also your ID. In return, you will get the amount stipulated per attack *credited within 1 week* What look like planned attacks to abuse this system will not be given funds.

NightShadow (#45215)

Preying on something placed in the game to help newer players out. New blood is a GOOD thing, it makes the game better, and an academy institution will make them more likely to stay for longer, and join in on the fun. I choose to place a 1$ donation worth of credits on his head per attack made, if you attack 5 times, you get 8$ donation worth, pretty simple. Attacks must succeed, obviously. A 5$ bonus will be given at the end of the month to the person who initiated the most devastating attacks upon this player.

At time of posting - rank 80 - score 2.948.822.209.

If this is going against the rules of the game, please moderators, let me know with a message, and I'll edit this post to put a in-game amount on the bounty instead.

Enjoy NightShadow. Pick on people your own size next time. I'd pick on you, but frankly, I'd have to drop my FP too darn much to warrant it.
10  Alliance General Talk / Hit List / Re: Nighty's Hitlist on: May 16, 2007, 11:23:26 AM
your going to hit a training academy? wow....

you must be a skilled player, glad my character isn't named after my forum user, I might be on your hitlist too.

But Nighty, if you have a problem with something designed to help new players, then I have a problem with you, and I don't even know you from a bar of soap  laugh Gain a few more ranks, I'll be waiting.
11  General Talk / Design & Strategy Room / Re: Shield/Comp Stack Formula on: May 15, 2007, 12:51:08 AM
See and now it's been written out like that my mind understands and can work with it, thankyou muchly!
12  General Talk / Design & Strategy Room / Re: Shield/Comp Stack Formula on: May 14, 2007, 11:51:31 PM
okay, so I'm intending to run 3 or 4 computers at 20% each. How would I work that out?

20 + 20 / 2 + 20 /  ?  (n+3^2)
    40         22

20 + 20 / 2 + 20 / 6 + 20 /  ?    (n+4^2)
   40          22        26

I have no idea how you guys think 'n' is a number....
13  General Talk / Design & Strategy Room / Re: Shield/Comp Stack Formula on: May 14, 2007, 11:17:52 PM
I'm unfortunately not extremely good at maths, so I have been wondering if anyone could throw me an example

Assuming my computers are all 20% acc.

c0 + c1 / 2 + c2 / 6 + ... + cn / (n+n^2)

20 + 20 / 2 + 20 / 6 + ... + cn / (n+n^2)

What does ... stand for?
What does cn stand for?
What does n   stand for?

14  General Talk / Design & Strategy Room / Re: A good way to start of the new round on: May 14, 2007, 10:59:34 PM
He's talking about this, something I found out also, and will choose to share.

What he doesn't realise is that this post was re: new rounds, not this late *unless this is early still*

Start, Vote ONCE, build a large quantity of the cheapest ships you can - 25mill should do about 15k ships.

Go onto the rankings page, and prey on all the people in your range, start at the lowest there and work your way up. You can end up at ranking 500 or so, and have about 15k space, and to boot, you might find the odd person who was going really well, then did something bad and everyone *cough* we know which alliance *cough* went and bombed them back to the stone age. In a lot of cases, because they have been left alone, they've left the game, and the workers have been 'propagating' So they are a wealth of credits/workers *5 raids on one netted me 100 mill credits and 250 mill workers, quite nice if I do say so*

2k turns later, I have 14290 space, 200+million in credits, 400 million workers, Is that not a better way to start than spending 2k on extending your ship?
15  Space Odyssey Info Terminal / F.A.Q. / Question about multiple weapons. on: May 13, 2007, 01:43:54 PM
Hi there guys.

I've been fiddling with design and have been working on formulas and the ilk, but I hit a bit of a wall.

I want a ship of mine to have 40x one of the weapons I have designed, but can't for the life of me come up with a way to fit more than one of it to my vessel, apart from redesigning *and of course, back twice, change name, click create...doesn't work*

Any help here would be great.
