Title: Lines

I read in a post recently that you should use "lines", or groups of ships where each one is abou 1.5 times the cost of the previous ones. What are the advantages and disadvantaged of this group? AAnd why should you use them>

having a set up like that allows you to upgrade one ship at a time. Each time you upgrade you just sell your tail ship to help fund a new lead.
Having them at 1.5 times more powerful than the last keeps your ships close enough to each other in power to adequately protect them, especially your tail. The greater the difference in power the more risk you take of losing your weakest ship, but the faster you grow, providing you suffer no loses.
It's a strategy many players use, but other fleet set up's have their own advatages too.

What other setups would you reccomend, like the one you use?

I'm pretty sure the norm would be a line of 3 - 4 mains and probably at least 1 fleet of powerships as a protective screen.
