Minerals:
With the recent additions to the game (the planets of course) i think that new areas of the market should be open to the public, it would go something like this "With the recent discovery's into the recreation of the galaxy's population through the creation of artificial planets the galactic economy is beginning to re-stabilise, due to this the council have decide to open up a new market, this new market specialises in resources dealers for those who need a quick boost to the amount of minerals they have, or a boost to there astro accounts"
Segments:
Segments seem to play a major part seeing this the council is opening markets into them as well "The council has been ever searching for new ways for it to make money, after much debate the council decided that dealing in mothership segments would be very lucrative for all parties involved and have opened a segments market to give a boost to there coffers"
Sectors:
The idea of a single station standing between you and a planet and/or player's isn't that big a threat anymore, especially not if a powerful alliance wants to go through there, so how about multiple people of the same alliance can build stations and planets in a single sector the strength of cloaking and shielding would be cumulative bonus, or a station/planet is shared between the members so all can upgrade it with there skill (the total upgrades will still end up as all of the members skill added) going something like this "The galactic council has been concerned with the rising number of bandit attacks in the galaxy, and has authorised the production of multiple station's/planet's in a sector to try to reduce the appeal of target's to an invaders fleet, this isn't a sure way to eliminate bandits but the council is doing its best to protect it's inhabitants, and is always thinking of you, its people"

Segment trading is off question. This way people can use alts to raid others, then sell their loot to the main.

Which is why you put a minimum bid on it, or try to crack down on alt abuse (many games use an IP scan for this).

IP was discussed already- really easy to change for some. or a person can buy through a friend. Money makes no real difference for top players.

no,that would provoke alt farming of minerals too. its not a bad idea but the way it works is it will really unbalance things.

No matter what is added, alt abuse is going to be a huge problem, even with planets it is possible.

This can be done in any number of ways, if a person is using a swarmer defence you can create alt, attack, delete it, do it again.

I'm sorry, I must not have understood somewhere. And how will the alt get the money for 3 billion swarmers?
