i dont know how hard this would be to program, but i think it would be RLY cool if player ad the option of submitting their base and mother ship coordinates to an "alliance star map" which would then allow their alliance mates to see where everyone is from the galaxy menu. maybe it could even be extended to include people nav comp data? idk, i just know that i am sick and tired of having alliance mates bouncing around every which way.

*note* maybe it could become possible for alliance's to share their maps with other alliances with whom they are truced

Sorry Silence - but one spy and all the fun of "sharing where I am" is well and truly over.

Not sure which religious commune your from, but in the real world - people dont always play nice.

i am aware of the spy issue (hence why i said players would have the choice and part of why i posted in the first place) and i think that is all the MORE reason to have these maps. it makes alliances a little more risky and adds some "fun" to the game. as to creating my own map... sry, not all of us are that tech savvy (or have that much free time).

on a side note, i have noticed that it is an overwhelming "thing" in these forums to reject things with the potential for additional harm. where is the daring? where is the sense of adventure? where is the spine?! jkjk but seriously... just because someone CAN ruin it doesn't mean everyone will and also DOESN'T mean that they shouldn't have the OPPORTUNITY to ruin it.

to stop spies the alliance leader can see where everyone is and who ever he selects, so a new player cant come in and see the map straight away, he.she would have to prove themselves worthy of knowing where everything is

also you can also add other people bases to the map, say everyone in the alliance can add 15 positions, so their bases and if they know positions of other base they can add them to so 1 alliance can build up a picture of the whole galaxy as a group only accessable to the few who are selcted.

Something like this is relatively easy to do ... My actual map has all my alliance bases marked, and the mouse overs show what resources are on each planet as well as the base and owner if known/suspected.
