- Now you can only do an actual battle every 3 seconds. This gives the server the time to calculate if you succeded or not, eliminating the bug with multiple encounters / missions at once on slower connections and in the same time eliminating the danger of overload due to a refresh mania (e.g.: Refresh attacks on dday, and in general, that count as a DOS attack, if enough people do it in the same time)

God Speed!

Denial Of Service, it's when a bunch of computers (tens, hundreds, sometimes thousands) send, like, trillions upon trillions of packets to the server. Because the server is getting so many packets, its bandwidth is completely used up (like a 110%). Thus, it has no bandwidth to do anything useful. Usually a DOS attack is orchestrated by somebody using trojans or worms.

Good information to know Chronos. I saw DOS and was thinking the old command line interface, but that didn't make sense for the context.

slow internet and multiple windows

while the first window was loading the enounter hed go though and have all the other windows attack to, sometimes doing the same encounter 40-50 times before the first page would load

but now he cant beacuse of that one battle every 3 seconds, liments him so that when one goes though it will cancle the other 49 beacuse it was doing the same encounter simtenously

yes, well, sorta. I see a way it might be able to be done still, but it'd be near impossible to time right, as you don't know exactly when the server accepted your request.
