Title: Attack strategy, using your fleet power to your advantage Post by: SirEmi on March 22, 2006, 07:28:18 PM As some of you have been using this strategy, I will reaveal it here, so others wondering how a commander that has more than 80% of another commander can still attack.
It is all tied up to how many fleets you send to battle. The attack link in Ranking is just to point you to possible targets, not to give ALL targets. Let's say the attacker has 100 total power. From this 50 are goods, workers, credits, etc. and 50 are fleets Now, if you would select all fleets, 50 and try to attack someone with 79, it would not let you. But if you would select 10 fleets, your power would be 50+10 = 60, so your lower limit would be 60*0.8=48, well, that is considerably lower than 80... The attacked player would face less fleets, like from a player with 60 power, not 100, so this is fair for both of them... Title: Re: Attack strategy, using your fleet power to your advantage Post by: Seither on March 24, 2006, 10:00:17 AM I'll put this into stupid talk, incase you don't understand what sir emi is saying, so here you go:
guy #1 Total power: 1.700.000 Fleet A Power 1.000.000 Fleet B Power 200.000 Base Power: 500.000 Guy #2 Total power: 750.000 Fleet A Power 400.000 Base power: 350.000 Normally, these two guys can't attack each other, unless guy #1 uses only Fleet B when he attacks, making his attack power 700.000, while guy #2's is 750.000, which is close enough to attack. This allows you to hit guys way lower then you are. |
