Delete In-Active Accounts

Email activation is needed for informing innactive accounts about their status. Because this server will have a persistent environement, it is very important that the Galaxy does not get too crowded with inactive alts.
If an account is inactive for 30 days or more, the server will send an email informing about that. If a friend or the user donated for the account at least $5 or upgraded to Gold, the account will be preserved forever, however if the account does not have this priviledged status, it will be deleted 7 days after the innactivity email if noone logged into it.

This definitely needs to be done.  There are way too many inactive accounts out there.  Please delete the in-actives as per the criteria proposed above.

Hopefully this may also motivate people to get on and make the server more active.

No do not delete inactive accounts instead do not add them to the Galaxy and the ranking unless the owner has logged in that round.

I do not like having accounts deleted I would rather have them go in a inactive mod as I suggested above. Fixes your issue and lets people who have 100s of designs not have to remake them all because they skipped a round of playing.

Edit: Did notice that you were posting in the wars forums. So do you only want this for SOWars or would you like it for all servers? Either way I do not want to see accounts deleted for inactivity.

On the wars server you would have to change in slighty so inactive accounts are removed from the galaxy after x days instead of them being send inactive at the start of the round.

I agree this should be put in Ken's way for the servers but I also think that right now the Wars server needs em deleted.
I think any account that still has base power should be deleted.

I dont think the wars accounts should be deleted just put in to some sort of cloaking mode where they cant be seen

In fact why not just put inactive players into level 50k Cloaking fields until they reactivate as a stop gap method?

Archive them but make them retrievable if the player comes back.

Do we really want Lightseekers account deleted?

Also if an account is deleted are the designs of the owner of that account deleted and as such unavailable for cloning?

kens idea is better i think less crowding but keeping the accounts around for the most part

Yes this suggestion is for WARS only.

I understand that people like Spayed and Lightseeker, who made sure to get a low account number would be crushed to lose it, so I am okay with putting the account into a disabled status.

I support ken's idea, I just want to make sure the encounters are managed properly.

The commander should NOT show up in the galaxy and hence their Power Level should NOT be taken into account when determining how to distribute Encounters in the galaxy.  this should only be based off of active accounts.

Is is possible to put the mothership in "hyperspace", remove it from the Galaxy if the account is inactive for 45 days.

Once the player logs in again and clicks the Galaxy, the mothership comes out in a random system.
