 I've been thinking about the number of players online at any one time. A new player logging in, seeing only 20 people online may think that it's not that popular a game, or asking a question to find no one answering.   
 The main reason people log out is through lack of turns. One of the factors that contribute to this is science research.

 My solution...

How about replacing turns as part of the science research componants with a new technology?  We currently have CP's that all research requires, maybe having scientific research needing CP's, credits and ST's (Science Technology )
 These can be either item drops or Mission rewards, I would say not to gain them through leveling like how CP's are currently earnt. This will increase more turns these will be used more to search/earn this new technology. Yes people may earn a few more segments, credits etc, but they will need these turns to increase science tech.  Turns can still be used in science research, but alot less than is currently needed.
  How about using the Muiltiprobe scanning as a method of increasing Science technology? I'm finding that I have alot more multi probes than pinpointers, if when using the scanners you have a chance to discover technogy aswell as hidden aliens. This will incourage people to use up these even if they have no pinpointers.

glad ur thinking m8, but this is a turn based game. turns are supposed to be used for everything

ya, it's turn based... meaning the turns you get is an indication of how much 'time' you've been playing... meaning there should be NO way to get extra turns...

and CP is for COMMANDER points...  it's for when you level up... not research... and again, should be for LEVELLING up, not... all of the above...

and speaking of things 'belonging' show me a 'strategy' game that leaves SO much to chance... (fleet difficulty you encounter, amount of missions you may find, 'super fleet' on the occasional mission... this isn't chess... this is poker...)
