Speaking of ambiguity, how bout these weasel words?
The average person does not really have that right. For that, I am often glad.
I am not
quite sure what you mean by that, but there is a difference between ambiguity and generality. I do not see how those words are significantly weasle-esque. It only pragmatic to disallow most people to decide when killing is murder and when taking is theft.
You pretty much pwned me (this time) - it's impossible to prove that companies don't have a right to design a product as they see fit.
"Winning" is not as important to me as promoting understanding. Being able to see a situation from multiple angles is an important skill to have, even if you still believe your side is correct. Learning that skill is a life-long pursuit.
Not that I don't like winning, it is just secondary.
As for vista... you shouldn't need a 300 watt cpu to surf the net, but then again, I use alot of shoulds.
Meh, I still use Windows XP. I am willing to bet that Vista will end up the better product, but I am still waiting for Vista-level components to hit the discount bin.
<---And I'm by no means a mathematician. I always like Buckminister Fuller's self-proclaimed vocation, 'design scientist'.
A very noble pursuit, when put to good use.
I would love for that to be the norm. But I also understand many companies positions. I am willing to meet people halfway, comprimise. Maybe we can some day come to a point where pirates really do not matter. But we'll have to figure out what works best for the mean time.
I still demand that games be completed. Situations like KotOR and Vampire: The Masquerade are unacceptable, although the grass-roots based solutions are heart warming, in my opinion.
I think I'll pirate their game and send them a thankyou letter. =)
I'm sure that would send the perfect message.
