Hello! I recently started sewing and crafting more often, and I?ve realized how many different materials I work with - fabric, paper, ribbons, and even thin plastic. It?s confusing to know which scissors to use for each material. Can someone explain the main types of scissors and their specific purposes?

Hi! I learned a lot about this from a detailed guide on https://www.the-littlest-thistle.com/types-scissors-guide/ The article clearly outlines the main categories of scissors and their uses. Fabric shears have long, smooth blades to cut textiles cleanly without fraying. Paper scissors are lighter and designed for crisp edges on thin materials. Kitchen shears have serrated blades for cutting food or packaging, and grooming scissors are small and precise for hair or nails. Mixing them up can lead to dull blades and poor results. Since I started using each pair for its intended purpose, my cuts have been cleaner and my tools last much longer.
