Hello, I would just like to point out the lack of attention you have been giving the game emi. My hope is that you read the forum more often than you read your in-game mail. Because I have sent you over 5 messages in the last month that have ALL gone unanswered. We should be aware of any extended breaks you take from the game. It would be nice, if you would either:

A.) Have an automated response sent with estimated date of your return when someone sends you a message while away.

and/or[/color]

B.) Instead having POWER next to your commander in ranking list and commander search E (#1), list the number of days you will be away from game (or date of return).

and/or

C.) Don't be away from game more than 24 hours- it's a business and you've left the open sign on; with nobody there.. And it pisses people off (myself included).

and/or

D.) Find some help. I know it's hard to find someone you're willing to let touch your baby, but it's either: let it die, or find a sitter. Assign someone to reply back to all of these unanswered messages with an ETA on a resolution or your return- at the very least. I won't even go down the list of PvE changes that need to be made... Because I've come to terms with the fact it'll never happen..

So, please pick one, and stop being discourteous and ignorant to your loyal customers/players. We have done nothing to deserve this..

I must admit, it would be nice to see you more involved Emi, even if it's just once in a while.

I agree Midnight. In almost all the other games he owners have moderators to take care of the owners creation. Lack of mods or owner suggests that he gave up. Emi has a good game with great potential if he just listens to his customers/clients more. If the game gets back on track I'm sure we could all get a person or 2 to join and they could do the same. They game will flourish and be back at big numbers. Also please fix the PvE server emi. Its frustrating to no end

I agree. I see two choices. You become more active (e.g fixing bugs or adding updates.) Or seek help and make some moderators.

I have been one of those lurkers reading everything, but so far not even registered for the forum. I have actually started playing several years back. Now I registered for the forum, as I would like to add a few more points to this thread.
This game is appealing not only on the "gaming" level of having fun playing the game, but also on an intellectual level, where e.g. The ship building can be a very challenging task. Now acetal years back there were certainly more people playing than nowadays, so I could understand (but doesn't mean agree) your lack of interest to provide any support. This actually creates several potential disadvantages for you and actually may block potential other pathways of positive (even financially):
1. You are neglecting your most loyal players, those which are actually hard to find and which are the core for every business
2. The game still has potential for development. It would normally be easier to "upgrade" an existing game than to develop a totally new game. Even if some changes might need to be radical. Without your support in game, that user base will and has shrunk, making it difficult to gauge any new ideas.
3. Even launching this game (with some modifications) under a new name would probably easier and cheaper compared to a new game, if your user base is there or at least a satisfied core group of players.
4. Other companies have been also "rewarding" their most loyal players by inviting them for beta trials of new games developed, who could bring in their insights for further refinement.
5. If on the other hand, there is really no interest in this game, you could have either sold or leased to someone with an interest in it, who could have further developed it.
But for any of those options to be viable, a good user basis is important and for that a very good support. Otherwise people feel left ignored, then they too will ignore this game.
At least by showing some more presence and answers will show some respect towards your customers, in whom, you as a game developer is most dependent of. That will in some ways also reflect in your results!
Thank you for listening this far.

Hey guys! Good to know we still have some dedicated players on Space Odyssey  1

Midnight, I've read all your messages and I usually reply, but reimbursing fleets is reserved only if due to a bug in the game. Now there haven't been bugs, but not many new updates either, I agree.

However, if there is still interest in the game I'm sure that updates will follow. I have an updated game engine now with a lot more features under the hood. I could probably give Space Odyssey a makeover and make it mobile friendly, plus some cool new features.

For the past year and a half, I've been working as a freelance software engineer in the financial district of Toronto on contracts so that I can support my family. While I would love to work on my passion witch is space exploration games, I have to prioritize a lot these days, so I can pay the expensive rent. But don't worry, I'm still working 16 hours a day, 50% for developing games and 50% for economic software. But of course I would love to do it 100% game developer  1

Anyway, I've received an interesting message from you guys and I've opened up a thread about it here:
http://spaceoforum.etvirtualworlds.com/index.php/topic,10396.0.html

Have fun and thanks for playing SO!

Ok, thanks you for the reply emi. Hey, we all have a life outside the game. That's understandable. I'm just asking that you try to not burden yourself with an impossible load and find others who are more than willing to help out.

And the claim that there has been no "Bug" is relative. Yes, the fleet power formula functions within it's specified parameters flawlessly, but either the parameters themselves or another variable involved in the PvE spawn system is flawed to the point that you could call it one massive "BUG". See here: http://spaceoforum.etvirtualworlds.com/index.php/topic,10397.0.html

The sheer volume of complaints toward ship loss should tell you something needs changed.. Think I'm exaggerating about how detrimental these excessive ship losses are? I will post a poll..

I hope anyone who lashes out at him so much feels a little bad now that you know what he does everyday for his family and not thinkning about that.

I don't feel bad one bit.. It took me lashing out at him for him to reveal the legitimate reason for him letting this game fall into shambles.. When all he had to do was say so, ages ago. And besides, the reasoning for his absence isn't the issue. It's his inability to balance the demand of real-life scenarios with the maintenance of the game. And FIND A SOLUTION!!! I'm not here to crucify anyone. That would serve no real purpose.  I speak on behalf of many SO veterans with the sole intent toward enlightenment of our frustrated perspective and to COOPERATIVELY diminish that frustration.

Davey, you won't get a reply. Even above, he claims to "usually reply". When saying that he replies 50% of the time is a MASSIVE stretch. Speaking of replies, davey, when you gonna pop on SO Main and say hello?
